Event and Production Coordinator

I have a cousin who has been working in an event organizer company a couple of years ago. I could tell that she is passionately in-love with her work for it requires a lot of travels. She likes going to new place that is why she takes care of her job as a Production Event Manager. She started as an Event Host, and as a host, she carried the event with aplomb. She was sharp, witty, and attractive to please the audience, and she’s also a good conversationalist. A year after, she was promoted as an Assistant Production Coordinator and now a Production Event Manager. Their company is not really a big company. They didn't own video production equipment, and not even a studio of their own. They only have contacts where to rent a studio if it is studio coverage, or they will just rent video equipment if the photo sitting is on-location. I was wondering why the company didn't own any equipment. And my cousin told me that it is faster and convenient, plus the fact that they don’t need a lot of people just to set up the equipment when they are on-location. It is the equipment rental company’s responsibility to arrange or set up the equipment, and they also provide vans, delivery service and other production services just like at Splashlight Miami. Now I understand the reason why they prefer to rent a studio or video equipment if there is an event regardless the size of the event. The company can save money by not hiring too many utility men, and most importantly; it has less work for them before and after the event. I can say renting video equipment provides convenience for the company especially theirs which not just that big one.

What Should a New Job Seeker Look for in a Job?

Get some experience first. Be willing to accept any work for the experience and discipline of having a job. You can’t be a manager at once. But from where you are, you can chart your professional career. At first, don’t choose a job. Give yourself one or two years to get a taste of how it is to have a job. You must start at the bottom. You would have a better feel of how the people in the lower ranks feel when you have experience being one. When you reach the higher position you would know what policies to implement, policies that would not give undue burden to your workers even if you demand a certain degree of work performance. To me, it’s important that people get a feel of how it is to be a small fry before becoming a big fish. And lastly, don’t forget to ask guidance from our creator. HE is above all things and everything. Pray. In no time, God will give what you ask as long as it is for good. :-)

Green Thumb

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Imagine your home surrounded with lush greens and fresh air. Imagine that you have enough open spaces where you can truly express yourself or having well-manicured garden.  There are people born with a green thumb, it came naturally, and some are not.  However, in today, gardening to everyone is not impossible. I heard a lot of people that Gardenieres is a help. It teaches them step by step and the proper way of planting, and on how to take care of plants regardless of the weather. I myself too, is interested to do the potting projects. We don’t have space for gardening so planting in a pot would be enough for me.

I wanted to have herb plants for I have a little passion in cooking, plus the fact that herbs could be planted in a pot. As I have read the instructions on how to make my potting projects a fruitful one, I should use a Miracle-Gro Continuous Release Plant Food to feed the plants for up to six months.  This Miracle-Gro helps the plants to grow despite the coldness of this season for it is rich in organic materials that could help improve the drainage and air flow of the plants. It could also be used for vegetables, flowers, trees and shrubs.  If you're like me who also like planting and you have Facebook account {I think most have this, if you don't have, I think it's time for you to get one, just saying. :-) }, you have to like the Miracle-Gro Facebook page, so you could meet the new gardenier and you could also get more information about gardening. I guess gardening is fun. However, to become a successful gardener, both time and effort have a big role in just about any endeavor. Good luck and all the best!

Boring Central

Do you have a job where you do the same thing over and over again? Or a job that requires you to merely “be there” in case something happens? If so, you know you don’t stay pumped up about the job very long. Without a challenge or an outside diversion, your brain checks out for sleep. How can you stay awake in a dull job? This might be hard for you to believe, but most boss' know when a job is boring. Really, they do. And they would have a good reason to complain if you asked to bring a radio to pass time faster.

Sometimes, you can even bring home work or read a book while you’re on the job. Here’s the catch: It’s very important to demonstrate your ability to handle the job first, before you ask for any special privileges. Hmm.. I am just lucky that my boss always listens to me, and he provided me all the privileges that I want as a wife/mommy/homemaker, my husband.

How about you? Whatever it is, I hope you all the best! :)
