Education is for Everyone

Online education has had a bit of a reputation to overcome. At the dawn of wide-spread Internet use, there were a handful of online schools that were seen as the equivalent of obtaining a mail-order degree in the pre-Internet world. There was some question about whether such degrees were legitimate, since many brick and mortar colleges and universities and real-world employers didn't accept distance learning degrees. Most weren't accredited by the regional and national accrediting boards that govern institutes of higher learning. All of that has changed as the population has changed, and the way colleges do business has evolved to address those changing needs. The student of today is not the same as the traditional student of yesterday. They're older and many already have career and family obligations. They're returning to school to prepare for a career change or to advance in their current occupation. They also require more flexibility and choice in the selection of educational opportunities available to them. Online degree-granting educational venues have also stepped up their game and gained accreditation and legitimacy in the worlds of academia and business. These factors have caused traditional brick and mortar colleges and universities to add an online component to their curriculum. This allows them to stay viable in an increasingly web-based society, but the biggest benefits are to those seeking to continue their education. Students are not as limited by geography in their choice of educational venues. They have the flexibility, via virtual classrooms and webcasts, to work around career and family obligations without falling behind in their classwork. Distance learning allows students to attend a wider variety of schools; even prestigious Ivy league schools offer online degree programs. With more traditional colleges going online and the accreditation of online-only colleges and degree programs, online education has finally come of age. This advancement is good news for future students and future employers alike.

You can find top online MBA opportunities on websites that focus on education. If you have a particular university or other institute of higher learning in mind, you can go directly to their website to find out if they offer a distance learning alternative. You can also visit websites that accumulate data on different types of degrees and list which institutions offer them and the requirements necessary to obtain the degree you're interested in pursuing.

Cutting the Cost of College Incidentals

Tuition is not the only cost involved in going to college. You will also need to take into account the cost of school fees, books, room and board, travel expenses and general cost of living.

Here in the USA, many colleges and universities require students to live on campus during their freshman year and require freshman to have a meal plan as well. In this way, the parents or guardians could save a little money for their students.

In the Philippines, if your home is far from the school, usually, the parents will look for a safer place for their student, and as much as possible, it must be near to the school or just a walking distance from the boarding house to the school. In this way, the students can save time and money for his or her transportation. It also teaches the student on how to manage on his or her allowance.

Worrying Kills!

If you are a worrier then we are in the same boat. And I agree that worrying kills if you are over the limit. Sometimes life is unfair and we don’t know why things happen to us. But on the other side, being worried to some things can result positive, but, mostly worrying is not healthy. Your mind and body are both tired because of worries. Sometimes I do avoid worrying, but sometimes I cannot help but to give up! Not totally giving up but having some pause, helps!

Life is too short as we always heard from others too! I agree with this, so if possible we have to think in positive ways and leave all our worries aside. Worrying kills your life! This is just a reminder, everything happens for a reason so keep away from worrying if possible. Live life to the fullest and try to talk your worries with a person whom you trusted! --- just my two cents of my thoughts and ideas. :)

Setting a Budget Every Semester

Setting a budget is crucial for any student in college. By setting a budget, a student learns the value of personal financial responsibility. He or she will be able to lay a strong foundation for a success in personal financial management. College offers students a great opportunity to learn how to save money for the things that they really want in life as opposed to spending on it on frivolous things in life.
Defining What You Want

Defining what you want to save money for in college will help you avoid spending on frivolous things. You should sit down at the beginning of the year and make a few goals for saving your money. It may be best for you to only choose one financial goal to start. If you truly want to buy your own condo by the end of your college years, then make this your goal. Write a clear statement, such as: "I intend to purchase a condo for $50,000, before I graduate from college." This type of clear intention will help you keep your eye on the prize and will help you avoid spending on a new guitar or stereo system.

Sticking to the Budget

Setting a budget will help you achieve your ultimate financial goals. The way you think about your budget is likely to affect your success with the budget. If you think of a budget as something that limits you rather than helps you have more opportunities, then you are likely going to have trouble in sticking to the budget. Think about a budget as a tool that you can use to build your future.

A budget is there to help guide you in making the right financial decisions. It is not there to completely deprive you of joy or success. Also, if you use credit cards, try to find one that offers a rewards program. The Discover card is one example of a credit card that will give you money back for all of your spending.

Enjoy Your Financial Success

When you are diligent in managing your finances, you will enjoy success in buying the things that you truly desire. You will be able to buy your dream condo or car by the deadline that you set. Be conscious of the ways that you spend your money, and you will reap great success in reaching the financial goals that you have set.

Never Ever Refresh Your Mobile Button After Commenting in Facebook

It is already a talk-of-the-web how famous this social networking is nowadays. Facebook, that is. There is no further discussion if you are going to have a debate for that. It is crystal clear in the statistics, here and everywhere in the world-wide-web. It is great, isn't it?

Okay, this is my own personal experience ( I can see on my cousins and friends too, that's their problem of why it did and now I found out why). I use my mobile when logging-in to my Facebook. You know, to connect friends and family, Facebook is just great of that. Communication is very important. And then it's not just once, but many times when I do the refresh thing after the comment I made, it would just doing a duplicate of what I wrote. How many times I refreshed, it is how many times my comment appears. What a disgrace. Ha! It's embarrassing doing that! It seems you are insulting the readers or so.

So, for your dignity's sake or what, I suggest do not refresh it after you doing such. If you think the signal is low, do not refresh until you are sure that the comment did not went-through. You can go to the Home page or Newsfeed first then you can already do the thing or go back. For me, I never ever type the number " 6 " on my Nokia-E5 (the refresh button) because it would do such. If ever, I do, I then expect to have my comment duplicates or many more. Remember that. Just a help, an unsolicited one.

Will Reformat and Reinstall my Lappy-Toppy

This notebook computer of mine which I use will be going to have a process of reformatting and reinstalling one of these days. It would be the second time around of doing such. The first one was when I was in the Philippines having a vacation when suddenly I pressed something and could not return to its normal appearance. I just realized, that was fine but then I got startled which I thought it just collapsed because it losses its battery or something like that. Good thing my friend, Angelie, made it operable when I was still there and I just gave her a little way of thank though she was against my idea. Being grateful to a person (to her) is a great feeling, that's why I can't passed it without giving her something because she deserves it though as I said it's just a little. If I had a lot, I won't hesitate to gave more. Anyway, yep, this lappy-toppy (laptop) will soon going to have that reformatting and reinstalling process which I will be doing it by myself. The short course I got few months ago which I got a certificate help my knowledge or to the computer aspect in general. Thanks goodness, though it's a bit pricey for just a short course but it is worth it, at least. I believe by doing the reformatting and reinstalling, it will give more speed of this gadget of mine. I can see as I run the anti-virus and alike, it has a lot of threats! To which that made the starting state slow to get to the world wide web, Internet that is. Or to my blogging stuffs. *wink* Ooh well! But anyway, before that happens (the reformat and reinstall), I have to save some important documents and stuffs first which stored on this laptop's memory and then it's good to go. It is not an easy work so I have to find a perfect time to do such.

Certificate of Computer Repair Short Course

I should have get the Computer Repair System but I opted for Computer Repair only. But I did not regret as I can still go for more hours in extend of what I studied from January up to first week of May for Saturday classes. Okay, my DH went with me of that class and he is very much happy for taking such as according to him it teaches him a lot. For me, I already knew most of it, though there are few that contributed a lot for my learning process. I just thought that the questions I had costs expensively. Haha! Well, that question really matters for my learning so I went for it unknowingly I have to undergo a lot of process before what I could have such. Ooh well, I love what I learned and happy, that's what it counts. And so as the previous words I wrote just speaks that I (and my husband) already done for that 64 hours of schooling. Oops, an hour cost much and it's far from the place where we resides (it's in the part of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles) but that doesn't matter. We love it and will always in our mind and skill. :-) If I did not get pregnant (am 26th weeks pregnant now), I am still continuing on that class, only in the System already which is great if I have done so but then it's also great for my situation. I planned to take a test/examination for CompTIA A+ with a review but not yet this time. Hopefully I could get it before we move to Philippines (hopefully with the help of God) next year. To top it all, the certification was being given after my (with DH) last day of class. Hooray!

Comfortable Place(s) to Study

As what as we want to have a good paying job, increase our knowledge of a certain stuffs that we are on, we need to study. Good thing we have already choices where we like to. It is either the traditional way, going to and fro to a campus or getting an online degree programs through the Internet. How cool is that? If a person is busy and do not have a lot of time driving back and forth or have a commute, the latter choice is a good help. Any place he/she is comfortable (like in the kitchen, living room, backyard or even in the bedroom, to name just a few!) to attend such class is just according to his/her idea. I love such! So then, good luck and have a great one choosing the course and pursuing!

Unemployment

Unemployment is everywhere. You may think it is just fine if most of the people are employed and just only few are not, which I think such idea is right. I mean, you know, unemployment is inevitable. And not all people are capable of the job being offered in the market. While it is always great to know everything, but you cannot deny that only few are flexible on the job demand. Hence, it is great to always be on look-out of the future, or if being in school to prepare for such, then it must has to be done.

Good luck and I hope you're not one of those people who are unemployed unless if you're husband or breadwinner is doing great on his salary, or he can support you or your child more than enough. :-)

What Happened With Cairo, Egypt Now?

Do you have any news update from such country (Cairo, Egypt)? I heard and saw the news from CNN on TV days ago (that was weekend) that such country was in chaos and Americans (from American government, I think some other government too issued such announcement to everyone) are advised not to travel Egypt, particularly in Cairo wherein people rallying towards the police officers pointing the leader of the country. There are harsh words being uttered by the community who were rallying, I think they thought they were practicing the freedom of speech. But for me, those were too much and all the harassment or action they made towards were too angst. I do not know if such angst were provoked by the leader/president or whatever they called the high authority of their country (sorry about it, am running out of time to think how they called).

(I just can think about my hubby's daughter who was there now, she was there before such chaos. Actually, she was advised by my husband that it is not safe of going there. Now, she realized what her dad told her. She was actually there to have a field experience of her nursing course which she studied in one of prestigious school in New York. From the chaos date, her mother and my husband do not have any communication yet. I hope she is alright.)

Do Not Put Any Liquid Near Your Computer!

Aright, perhaps you already heard it from your sibling or mother's voice, not once but many times. Your voice may tell you about it but you are perhaps stubborn enough, simply because you want to have water unto your side. Your computer professor may tell you every now and then but you just let it pass unto your ears, maybe. Or it is really.

This happened last year when I went to community school. It is not a fancy kind but it is a presentable school. Seems like a private school back in my hometown. Professor and his aid are cool except that the teacher is old enough already. For sure, he will retire soon but to tell you, he teaches great. I do not have connection after I opt out going back for summer class last year. Okay, back to the computer and water. ;-) One time, my smart healthy (fatty), pretty close classmate put her soft drink near her computer (we have one hi-tech computer each student). Yes, every now and then our teacher told not to put any H2O near the very important thing, the computer, but she was stubborn enough. Okay, she admitted it. But it already happened but that does not mean, it was fine. Actually, our teacher blatantly uttered not good words. So lesson learn, no water (or any liquid thing) ever near the computer! Okay, got it? Or else you will feel sorry on yourself. Damage and repair cost much just because of your careless behavior. Mark my word. I believe computer is close to primary need to every student or in a house nowadays. So take care of it or it will cost you a fortune.

My classmate is my inspiration. I plan or attempted to put live flower in a vase (of course with water) but it came up on my mind. So no liquid on my table ever, just below unto it if I wanted. Flower cost only some bucks but computer cost about 1000 bucks, which is which?

My Internet Connection is Totally Back!

I could never be happier thinking about my Internet connection. Nope, it is not about my Internet Service Provider because its basic connection is apparently perfect, as in five bars! It is the script that I saw as what I told you the last time on my post yesterday. I was contemplating on how I got it and also of always hibernating my laptop, though it has its cooling pad aside from its fan internally. So the former got it, it is on my "Tools" menu bar. It is specifically on the "Add-on" file. I uninstall it. Though I only have few "Add-ons" installed on my browser but still it taking its toll! I should have to get its drama but it takes a lot of time on me, knowing I am not a computer wizard. I got knowledge based on my experience (and special mention to marz Pehpot as she gave me an idea unknowingly due to her shout in Facebook, thanks a lot marz for because of it, I figured it out this specific problem) as computer is my bread and butter while at home and being away from friends and close family circle. Well, it also has an interaction with what I learned from my minor subjects way back school years time and thorough process (and also to my sistah Joyce for as an IT graduate, for some reason she inspires me to like computer and Internet *wink). So then, I know as time goes on it also involves technology goes on its own way. One just hopes it is walking/running/jogging or riding in a right path and know when to take its time and responsibility.

My Manic Monday for 07/12/10

Here is the glowing manic Monday again. Time for everything. Goodbye to day-offs and face the weekdays reality. But what can we do about it, that is already the trend for most folks. We just have to embrace what it has to do with us. Bad ones eventually gone. Ah Monday! Here you are and welcome! ;-) Manic Monday questions and my takes or opinion below:
Has reading a book ever changed your life? Which one and why, if yes?
My take: Hemmm (thinking), I cannot remember the exact book. There are many of them actually but it could some up to one, those were the books as I was still a student. Oops, I hope this answer is acceptable. :-) That is only I can think now. Poor me! ;)

Name one book you had to read but hated, and explain why you hated it.
A book without colors or images I do not like to read, not particularly hated but close to it. ;-) For particular of that book? Hemm (thinking) as I was a student, it was "HEKASI" book in Tagalog "HEograpiya, KAsaysayan at SIbika" in English as "Geography, History and Civic" but that was before (even it has colors and images, I guess the way the teacher taught us). I love to read and even watch it in television or anything about it currently.

If you could pick a book you’ve read to make into a movie, which one would you choose?
Hemm (thinking) am not really into particular but if I could pick a book which I have read and make into a movie it would be a recipe book by Nina of Ask Ms. Recipe. I want to watch that in a movie as was intimated because the author is a blogger and already like a blogger friend to me. :-)

WGU Degrees and Programs Offered Online

Below is my personal opinion of Western Governors University online regarding their school and the programs and degrees they are offering online.
*****
Western Governors University is a prestigious respected non-profit university which was founded by nineteen (19) governors of United States and was running from year 1995 and recently, the management expanded its growth that they are offering degrees and programs online that busy individuals have the time to study at the comfort of their home at a low-tuition fee. Since it is a non-profit one, as I said it is low in tuition fee as compared to a normal online university schools. Right now the this non-profit online university offers four (4) online major degrees and other four (1)WGU Online Teachers College degree programs, these are: (1.1) Online Teacher Licensure Degree Programs, (1.2)Online Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Programs, (1.3)Online Master in Education with Teacher Licensure Programs and (1.4) Online Graduate Programs for Licensed Teachers. When you want to get any of these four teacher degree programs, you may like to check this school out so you can see how much you can save than any other teacher degree programs online university. As much as I like to get online degree programs in this online school (WGU), my eyes and mind is on Masters of Business Administration to upgrade of what I learned from my college degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Business Management which is under (2)WGU Online College of Business. There are many different degrees you can get depending on your line of interest. The other two major degrees (3)WGU offers online by the way are Online College of Information Technology and the other one is(4) Online College of Health Professions. In my personal opinion, this is a school which everyone is looking for when it comes to quality but of low-tuition fee when you want to study online or at the comfort of your home.

Learning Piano

If you could remember how I really like to learn piano if I have plenty of time, then you can visualize how I really want to. I hope I have enough time to practice all the stuff needed in order to learn and could then play good. But for now, it is somewhat like close to impossible. But I am not closing my door of personal growth for this stuff. One day, I will! It is one of relaxing, fun and awesome hobby.

Now I must learn the fact that there are steps to learn after the basic skill. Certain individual somehow goes to study in traditional school but nowadays the choices between this or at the comfort of our home is of our decision which do you like better. Mostly said it is better to study it online after the basic skills. There are stuffs to learn like accompanying to the singer so not just playing but learning how to go with the flow on how it is better. Folks usually like to learn piano chords. Yoke Wong is an expert of piano lessons. She played piano at the age of seven and goes to school for how many years of music industry for personal growth. And now she improvised the lesson and a lot of stuff that folks who like to learn on how to play piano chords can understand well same as in traditional way at the same time just a cheaper price. As an expert she will teach you as to her expertise and in no time you will be playing piano chords at your expected time or perhaps lesser than you think. You may like to check her site to see for yourself. Have fun playing and keep going...

As the time goes by, education has come its facilities higher as technology does. Traditional online universities want busy aspiring student to continue their education to higher level accessibly. With that, most prestigious ones indulged into creating an online school. Not only for one particular city or state but to everyone anywhere here in United States who want to pursue their education to attend to graduate school.
