How to Be Yourself

How to be yourself? Let us admit it, loving ourselves is easy but showing others who we are really, is hard. That said, most of us had to wear a mask to disguise our true feelings, our identities, and the real person that we are. You may admit to like Madonna, when truth is that you have been rooting for Justin Bieber. We choose to like what other people sense as something “cool” even if it is against our will.

Find yourself. Understand the person you really are. Look at the things you value and contemplate your choices. See what you desire and act according to your liking. Working on a trial and error process will help you define yourself more. You could take a personality test so you could assess yourself. However, be careful. You have to be sure that the test result actually defines the person that you are. It is by understanding yourself that you get to love your own uniqueness.

Avoid looking at your past mistakes and allow yourself to grow. Among the greatest mistake you could do is to fix your future according to your past. Improve yourself and make wiser mistakes. Forgive and forget your past errors, even those instances when you are least proud of. By accepting your mistakes come the love and anticipation for a bright future.

Stop considering what other people see in you. Simply put, you do not have to care what other people think of you. Allow them to think what they want without actually caring about their perception. If they think you are fat, it is merely their opinion and you should not allow their words to hurt you. Stop asking people about how they see you. It is time to live for yourself; this is how to be you.

This is a guest post by Ciel. She is a photography enthusiast and is fascinated how words can be expressed through images. She is now working as a writer for gulvafslibning, which is about floor sanding.
