Today, many vendors are creating their own websites. By doing this, they are able to sell goods to a wider audience. However, before you can begin a website, you will need to create and register a domain name. While registering a domain name is simple, you will need to consider the many options available to you.
To register a domain name, ensure that the name is not being used. A simple Internet search will confirm if the domain name is free. When selecting a domain name, chose something that is easy to remember. The name should also be one that catches the eye. If your desired name is available, select how you would like to register the name. For top-level businesses, .biz, .net and .org are popular choices. After finalizing your domain name, decide on the length of time you would like to register the name for. In most cases, a domain name will need to be registered for at least one year. The maximum length is 10 years. You will also need to pay a small registration fee. You can find cheap domain register at Register.com. Finally, specify the IP address of your domain name. This will let customers know where your site is being hosted.
