Show Your Support for Walgreens

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Were you aware that something was brewing between Walgreens and Express Scripts? To tell you honestly, I wasn’t until I heard that Walgreens was asking for everybody’s support to have themselves still be part of Express Scripts network. It seems that Walgreens has been negotiating with Express Scripts for the past year so it stays part of Express Scripts’ network of pharmacy providers. Unfortunately, the negotiations were futile and Walgreens’ contract expired before the turn of the year.

As a result, Walgreens’ pharmacies are no longer part of Express Scripts’ network. What does this mean for consumers who buy over-the-counter and prescription drugs? Well, patients under Express Scripts’ program would now have to look for other pharmacists. To some, that would mean driving farther just to get their prescriptions filled at pharmacies that, unlike Walgreens, are not open 24/7 or have drive-thru facilities.

This situation is quite upsetting, especially to those who are part of the past program. Nevertheless, the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens is still in effect, and Walgreens even has an ongoing promo for the month of January where membership fees for both individuals and families have been reduced.

Hence, if you want to lend your voice in support of Walgreens’ cause or stay updated with the latest news, please like the fan page of Walgreens on Facebook. You may also follow Walgreens on Twitter.
